Day 47

Elegant Diva Shoes!

Hellooo world, check out my new booties! In case you can't see clearly, that is brown with gold studs. My first new pair of shoes in a very long time! Got this sexy thing at none other than......me and honey's new baby.....Elegant Diva Shoes, our own store!! I have had my eyes on this beauty for a few weeks now, so she is my first!! :)

We opened for business for the first time on Day 47 and it was a blast! Super tired yes, but very exciting and awesome! There is so much that goes into owning and running a business!! I know no matter what it will be a great learning experience and we will have each other to depend on. We made sales, my mom came to visit and bought a pair of shoes, we talked to our neighbors, trained 2 new girls and balanced out the register correctly at the end of the night YAY!!! Cheers to the next step!

Day 46

Cabin in the Woods

I have been on a lifelong search for the perfect horror film and so when I heard great reviews for this movie I knew I HAD to check it out to see for myself. Reviews said this is NOT what you expect for a horror film and boy were they right! I had been pretty tired from the day....so this was a great way to take a break from all the energy spent on other things....the honey and I got In n Out, which by the way I am disappointed to say I can't really handle fast food so my belly ached the whole time although it tasted magnifico! So back to the movie....Definitely not what you would expect so watch it and see for yourself! I was quite tense for a few parts where honey told me I was shaking, but it was great suspense, action, and of all things you would least expect, COMEDY! freakin funny and super entertaining. If this were a blog dedicated to my lifelong search for the perfect scary movie....then I would have to say that the search continues, but I had a blast on this cabin in the woods horredy/com-horror (combo of comedy+horro)!

Day 45

The Money Pit

What a movie. I laughed until I cried throughout this hilarious movie! Tom Hanks and Shelley Long play a couple that end up buying a house that is just pure crap and completely falls apart on them. It is so freakin funny. It has been awhile since a movie made me laugh so hard!! Probably not since Slingblade!! (mental note must watch that one again soon!)

Day 44

Friendship bliss...

I got the nicest message at work today from friend M-bear. I had messaged her to say hello and that I missed her and she wrote to me:

I have been thinking about you these last couple of days! I just wanted to share with you what a positive influence you have been on me. Thank you for always trying to motivate me and put things in a happier place for me! It is nice to be surrounded by someone who is always looking at things in a positive manner and encouraging me to see myself differently! I miss you too! Work has been a little busy lately and so many things have been on my mind. Thank you for being such a good friend to me. I just needed to make sure that you knew that!!

Awwww...well M-bear, I love you too. These random moments of warmth and friendship always make the b-moments shine bright.

Day 43

Happy Administrative Professional Day

I love it when there is reason to celebrate! Day 43 was the day to honor our support peeps and we did a breakfast. There was oatmeal with brown sugar and dried fruit and butter and milk, egg burritos, donuts, fruits and 85 Degree bakery goods! If you can see those 3 little desserts with strawberry and mango, I got those for our 3 staff and I am glad to see they loved it! One inhaled it! :) When times are tough and people have a lot of work, but get the chance to slow down and enjoy each other's company with food, well, it makes a perfect b-moment for yours truly!

1 cup of Korean pancake mix with 3/4 cup of water, add chopped mushrooms, white onions and leek and get this delicious golden veggie pancake. So yummy!

Day 41

Total Bliss. This movie is ridiculously funny and has an all-star cast of comedians. Seen it several times, but had the honey watch it tonight with Costco rotisserie chicken, mixed greens, walnuts and strawberries. Pre-dinner drink was a shot of blue agave tequila which gave me an immediate buzz. Mixed with some of the best lines of this movie produced a lovely Monday night, 41st day of bliss!

Favorite lines:

The wrong kid died!

Dewey! I been halved!

expected bliss: 18, unexpected bliss: 23

Day 40

Music Bliss

Sunday night honey accompanied me to a concert to enjoy the music of Andrew Lloyd Weber so the performers sang songs from Evita, Wicked, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Starlight Express, and.....Phantom of the Opera!! We got free tickets donated to us at work to celebrate our 40th anniversary for serving people with developmental disabilities. The music was phenomenal.  It was so beautiful and amazing, I had to keep wiping tears away. A cool bonus was that the two that sang the duets from Phantom were actually husband and wife in real life! Got to talk to the husband after and tell him that I knew their music was amazing because I could not stop crying and I cry when I am touched by the magic of musical bliss. This picture was taken outside the theater.

Day 39

Tomas....ooh oooh ooooh Tomas. LOL had a blast on Day 39 at Danny boy's 4th Bday party (refer to Day 5 for Danny). My better half wore my jacket and shirt and sunglasses and I painted and we transformed honey into Cepillin, this clown character that Danny loves to sing to! The best part was seeing Danny truly believing that his beloved clown was really at his bday party!!! Too tender and sweet and blissful! Even Danny's mom teared up! Awwww......and ahem btw, I have got to start booking honey for kid parties!

Day 38

Babygirl Bliss

Meet Ocilia from the animal shelter. She is about 2 years old and her breed is Havana Brown. Such a pretty girl it was hard to walk away. It had been awhile since I got so captivated by a feline friend since meeting Izzy at the shelter, who reminded me of our late Mia. Ocilia was so cute and pretty I couldn't stop going back to say hi. (just checked the website, she is still available for adoption!)

expected bliss: 17, unexpected bliss: 21

Day 37

Makeover Day!

Got me a makeover from my supervisor and it was so much girly fun! I remember one time someone did my makeup for me and said she would do it the "natural" look...if natural was also the geisha look! lol. I really liked how this one turned out though! Fun times!

Day 36

Happy 3 Years!

Aww this was the wonderful edible arrangement gift my honey had delivered to me at work to celebrate our 3 years of meeting on the street. That lovely day in Irvine in traffic was the bestest! Meeting my alma jemela! I didn't want to eat cute pineapple hola kitty, but you know I can't live without fruit so ate it all!!! Thank you!! So sweet is my honey!

Day 35

Sorry no picture for this bliss post. This was a funny moment at work. Cracked me up big time. So I have a co-worker that has already left the agency. Let's call him Chris. He left at least 2 weeks ago now. I noticed that even after Chris left the agency, his status for his instant messenger program was still green, so still active. I told my buddy in the IT department of this occurence. Next thing I know, this conversation occurs:

Chris: sup gurl how u doin?

me: hi!! :)

Chris: was wondering what r u doin for lunch today?

me: ohh gonna be eating lunch. would you like to join me

chris: would u like to join me for some fried chicken

cracked me up. made my day and into my bliss count :) and jes my buddy in IT was working on Chris's computer and having a ball messing with me

Day 34

Monday cooking bliss

So sorry, been a bit behind on blogging my bliss, it's been happening, just not documenting on time! Mondays are me and the honey's anniverweekery days to celebrate. It was Happy 91 weeks for us on my 34th day. For this meal I baked fish, brussel sprouts and cooked quinoa and spiced it up with basil, white pepper and fresh squeezed lime! it was tasty and now that I take a closer look, the quinoa was served in the shape of a heart! Bliss occurs when the honey has it and smiles and I know he enjoys it!

Day 33

Say what??

Made the sweetie drive back just so we can get this picture of the nail salon we passed. Duck Feet Nails. With Mexican Style Designs yay! The other window said 3D nails. Lol it all sounded so funny. Finally googled duck feet nails and saw images of this design. Ah so I am just behind on industry terms, I was not, in fact, going insane. I said on Day 29 that these days I really believe in signs! :)

Day 32

Buzzz Bliss

No you do not have vision issues. This picture is us in blurry buzz bliss. We went on a limo ride Sat night for honey's friend's birthday down to SD and it was a blast! The limo ride there was filled with loudness, music, alcohol and testosterone. When we got to downtown, we just walked around and in and out of different clubs and danced the night away! The limo ride back was definitely interesting, and Sunday when i repeated back parts of the night that were not remembered by the honey, it was pretty darn funny. Testosterone mixed with alcohol is ..... ridiculously funny. If only I had my own camera crew haha then it be a great reality show episode. Anyhoo I had a blast and enjoyed it!

Caramel Mocha Bliss Blast

Btw got my hair did earlier in the day and I named my new hair color just that. Makes me wanna stick a straw into the side of my head and take a sip.

Day 31

Foodie Friday with Mommy = Blissness

Got to spend Friday with my mom all day. It has been awhile since we did that. Friday was rainy and crazy weather-wise, but we turned wet windy day into warm fun day by adding mom-time with food trips. We met at the Korean market and ate the Korean food in there, then hung out at home and watched tv. We had plans to go to Special Thai for the thai buffet, but that did not happen because their buffet was put on hold for the time being. So after discussing possibility of other choices, going from dimsum to chinese to sushi we ended up at the pho place where we each had a plate of pho and shared this yum fried chicken with butter garlic sauce dish. YUM. Brain went on a merry-go-around meets international food court when my mom made became my own I Love Lucy episode with the high dosage of mind-changing on what to eat. It was really fun tho, so def became my bliss moment :)

Day 30

Movie Night!

Thursdays before my Fridays off are the best. Long weekend, more time with babe and just overall a nice blissful feeling. We were in the pie mood so got us EACH our own medium Pizza Hut pie. Mine was half cheese and half sausage/mushroom and we topped our slices off with chimichurri sauce, avocado and had mixed greens on the side. Awesome meal. Paired with one of my favorite Jet Li movies! It was the perfect evening!! These are the b-moments to always look forward to.

Day 29

Music is Love

These days I really believe in signs. Remember when I said on Day 15 that I wanted to play piano for seniors in homes? Tuesday night out of nowhere I thought about the goal I have and how I need to get a move on the plan. So the morning of Day 29 I went to youtube in the morning to find a song to listen to while getting ready for work. When you go to the youtube homepage it shows random videos available to watch. I never look at those. I usually just type in whatever video I want to watch. That morning for some reason I looked down and saw the title of the 2nd video listed:  Old Man In Nursing Home Reacts To Hearing Music From His Era. I thought wow, I have to watch this.
I got to work and watched it. It was amazing. Shows the video of a man at a nursing home who is non-ambulatory and is usually just slouched over and not very active. The recreational therapist decided to try music therapy and put headphones on the man and when he heard music, he came to life. It is so powerful. Touching and sweet and beautiful. Tears of joy galore at work! It really hit me how much I need to get on this plan!
This is what he says:  "It gives me the feeling of love, romance. I figure right now the world needs to come into music, singing. You’ve got beautiful music here, beautiful, lovely. I feel band of love, of dreams. The Lord came to me, made me holy. I’m a holy man so He gave me these sounds."

Day 28

Happy Chusday to me!

Perfect addition to my healthy meal! The chicken reallllly hit the spot (please refer to Day 7) and made my veggies taste even better! Don't worry though, I think it's ok. I got home a bit after 830pm from work, then did my Insanity workout, Cardio Power & Resistance and sweat it out.

Day 27

The Price is Right!

Bliss! Us girls went to be in the studio audience for the game show The Price is Right on Monday! it was a BLAST. bliss blast. Everyone should go at least once. We almost didn't make it in, but we were the 2nd to last group to get in. 4 other ladies got in after us and that was the last group they let in. This was an all day outing. We got to the line around 1030am, then got in past the gate probably after 1230, then waited to get our nametags and group picture taken and finally to the interview before 4pm! They do interviews for group of 12 people and look for enthusiastic energetic people. The lady that was in the group after us, Bess, was so cute. We could tell immediately she would be picked. She was from NY, visiting her family in CA and was heading back to NY the following day. We all told her that she would be picked to be a contestant. And she was! Now, here is where it gets better. (as if being picked to be a contestant wasn't sweet enough!)

Bess got picked to be a contestant. Then for the round she bid on, she won. For the game she played on stage, she won. She won a year's worth of movie tickets, flowers and groceries! Then when she spun the wheel, she got 50, then 50 again (goal to get 100) so she automatically got $1000. Then spun again for a chance to win $10k if she gets the 100. She spun. She got 100. Another $10k! For the final showcase, she bid and won a trip to Grand Canyon, Ireland and a Jeep! With each win, us girls got more and more excited until we were crying out of joy for her. It was so amazing and so meant to be.

It was originally supposed to be 8 of us girls going. Had all 8 gone, then Bess and her family wouldn't have even gone in. God works in miraculous ways. Bess deserved it, the sweet caring soul she is. We had gotten to know her in the long waiting of the day and were all so happy to see her get this.

Btw this episode will air May 2nd. Watch out for the tall asian girl in the back jumping up and down. It's me!!

oh, had to share this pic. Took it while waiting to find out if we get in. It's hard to see, but that crosswalk sign says Sausauge Xing. HAHAH! That red shot behind is a sausage cafe!

My Bess Bliss was amazing and I was so happy to get to see and be part of this. Oh and Drew Carrey is so cute and funny!!!!!!!!!

Day 26

Spin the Wheel!

Spent Easter Sunday first at Chuck E Cheese with honey and his little ones and had a blast! After all, it's where a kid can be a kid. There was one game we played that was seriously a group effort. Got a small bruise and a good workout playing Hit Hit Alaska. In case you can't tell, I am posing next to the The Price is Right wheel game. (Hey!! it's a sign! We are planning on going on an Alaskan cruise, and I had plans to go to the Price is Right show the next day!)

After Chuck E Cheese we went to the park for a few hours and it was so much fun! I cannot believe how many people go to the park on Easter! Oh, one highlight was when the ice cream lady came and honey got me a strawberry ice cream bar! Bliss!

expected bliss: 13, unexpected bliss: 13

Day 25

Doggy bliss

Remember Miss Kirby from Day 18? I thought she had already been adopted, but she was not yet. So when I got to the shelter on Saturday I happily took her out. We relaxed on this bench for quite a while where she napped to her heart's content and I blissfully just sat and enjoyed the day. Later Kirby came to lay on me for awhile which was great. Until....

I noticed 2 strange stains on my pant legs. Finally realized she had her period on me!! This was a first. I went to a staff member and was told that Kirby will be adopted very soon and just needs the final procedure to get spayed. Ah. Kirby in heat = bloody pant leg for yours truly.

So I go to the restroom to try to scrub the stains out. Didn't do well on the scrubbing I guess. Looked down and saw that the scrubbing did however, leave me 2 hearts. Awww. Special I felt that afternoon trying to rid my pant leg of blood left from a doggy. :) Then moved on to walk other dogs. Took a little one, Justin, out for a walk. And he did this.....

Ripped my shirt! He was so excited by the smell of Kirby all over me that he full on attacked my shirt! It was ridiculous to the T. Chewed through my shirt, kept jumping up and down all over me, continued to tug at my shirt, and the final straw was when I saw the hole in the crotch of my jeans! *blush, blush* Sorry Justin, back in you go, you horndoggy! :)

Well, I definitely felt very desired that sunny 25th day!

Day 24

Say...WHAT?

I know, I know, again, how can something like THIS be my b-moment (refer to Day 16)? Saw this label in the resource library for the Pediatric Annals and could not believe it was mislabeled like this. Ouch. Couldn't stop laughing and knew I had to post it for my 24th b-moment. Sheer ridiculousness that gets me haha laughing! I did say on Day 16 that it is neat to see different perspectives. This is definitely the other end of the perspective.

Mental note: gotta get someone to make a new label for this

expected bliss: 12, unexpected bliss: 12

Day 23

MMM...Meat Bliss

Looks like heaven to a carnivore like me. I can probably easily say that eating those fine slabs of dead moomoo was the defining b-moment, but look again, it's not. Please read on.

Thursday was a great day at work. I met with my supervisor for my yearly evaluation and got a great performance review! I was really proud of myself and it was really nice to read all the wonderful and positive things that she wrote about my work in the past year. I am working on a presentation on the topic of self-esteem to present next week to some students and I must agree with one of the things in there: that we should make it a point to be our own best friends and that means giving ourselves: acceptance, help, encouragement, praise, time, trust, respect and love. So true! So I was very excited and proud of myself to get the great review and my 5% raise! Woohoo!

Anyways, so honey and I go to fancy dinner that night. We have a reason to celebrate and we get dressed up. What an experience. We had all the components to make a poor review for the fancy high-priced place:

slow service: check!
dirty utensil: check! (my fork had a piece of old something stuck to it)
wet seat: check! (i had to wipe down my chair)
slow service: check! (ummmm I only wanted water??)
bugs in beer: check check! (both cups of beer had dead bugs in there, the 2nd one bigger than 1st)

What more could you want?? :) The most redeeming part, however, was that the food was great. Honey's steak was very tasty and huge. Mine was pretty good too. I enjoyed the cream corn too. The manager came over to give an awkward apology where he more told us to accept his apology, rather than ask. We said ok and it's fine. He told us the the beers would be comped and to take some desserts home free of charge. So we get the creme brulee. Should have taken a pic. The strawberry that came with it, albeit cut up nicely, was so old that it was nearly rotten. Boohoo!

Why did this make my b-moment you ask? I think it was the ridiculousness of it, we had a blast laughing about it and saying how there is no need to ever return there again! Better to make our own steak at home and serve ourselves whatever we want. If we want our own bugs we can put in our own! :)

Day 22

Day 3 Insanity: check!

Yay! Did it! I have been waking up sore, calves burning slightly with steps that I take (but usually when I wear heels), but the pain and soreness is very joyous! Snapped this pic of myself after the workout for Day 3: Cardio Power and Resistance. Powerful I felt afterwards! It is funny, during each workout when I am exhausted and sore and trying to catch my breath and admiring my raccoon face with my eyeliner dripping off, internally I feel strong and alive. This bliss is good for me on so many levels. No pain, no gain!

Day 21

I had my b-moment Tuesday night when we have TWO new moms join our support group. I run a moms support group at work and it has been a goal to increase membership and to continue to provide a quality place and forum for moms of all situations to come together to provide the support for each other. It was just great to see them listen to each other and offer advice and support. It is such a unique part of this job to be able to be part of this. Moms are the best!!

Day 20

Insanity: Day 1

Yay Day! Yours truly is baaaaaack! To the Insanity program! I had actually started the 60 day workout program the end of January this year, but then had to finally stop halfway through because I somehow managed to injure my big butt. I have no clue what I did, but I know when I did certain stretches, when I sat down or got up, I felt tension and it wasn't the "good" sore you get from a good workout, it was a strange strain. So even at the very end of that month I was pushing myself to get through, even though the strain was there. Until one day when I cried out in pain sitting to charge my phone, my lovey finally had to tell me I HAD to stop. So stop I did. :(

I rested, I stretched, I rolled my back on a tennis ball, I accidentally overdosed on Motrin. (That's another fun story. One day I thought I took the proper dosage, but ended up with a total of 3200mg of motrin in one day! No wonder I wouldn't drive and had to pull over for a nap! Oopsies!) I secretly whined in my head when I realized that Day 60 would have been March 29th. But I got over it and finally got to feel well enough to start up again last night! I took it easy, but still got a good sweat and woke up this morning with the "good" sore! Hello good sore, long time no feel! :) Here's to the rest of my 59 days!

Day 19

Armadillo or my man's head gear?

Well....both. Sort of. Let me explain. The boyfriend and I went out for a bike ride yesterday and he told me that earlier in the week when he rode his bike and wore his helmet, he passed his neighbor who commented on his protective head gear. Apparently she felt that his helmet also passed as an.....armadillo!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA I got the biggest laugh out of this. Shaking, teary eyed laughter came out of me. Every time I looked at the helmet after he told me, I could not stop laughing it was so amazingly funny. Also, the lady said that helmets are so weird these days. That she had seen some helmets that looked like cats on top of people's heads. Ahh remember how I enjoy that people have different perspectives and opinions? Well, today I found bliss knowing someone could see helmets as also armadillos and cats! Bliss!!!!!

Btw, this lady cracked me up on a different chance encouter 2 months back. She approached me when we were doing laundry and asked if I could help her pull a ring off her finger. Apparently she tried on some rings at home and this one was stuck. So I pulled a bit, but didn't want to hurt her, so I recommended that she try with some butter or lotion. She agreed to said plan and went home to execute the plan. My boyfriend, the sweetie he is, went back to check on her and helped her get it off. That must have been his random act of kindness of the day! Pull buttered ring off neighbor!

Day 18

Meet Kirby, my little friend I sat with at the animal shelter. Super cute, very sweet, we bonded over mutual enjoyment of just relaxing and sitting. It was just so peaceful. I took her for a walk, and then when we sat at a bench, Kirby very happily jumped in my lap. This picture was taken in this makeshift "house" where we can take the canine friends and unleash them so they can have a sense of how it feels to be at "home." I sat and read about dog breeds and Kirby sat and napped. What could be better?

Here is a pic from her back. By the way, I just checked online, status of Kirby: adopted :)
